Evaluation of water quality and pollution using multichannel sensors
نویسندگان
چکیده
We studied and discussed the characteristics and the application of a multichannel electrode type sensor. It was based on eight membranes using various lipids as an effective and a simple potentiometric sensor for detecting water quality. The response of the sensor was calibrated using a standard solution, adjusted as an artificial river water. Especially, we researched the response patterns of the sensor to the river water at Kitakyushu in Japan. In general, cations increase the membrane potential of negatively charged membranes, while anions decrease that of positively charged membranes. The water quality of the upper stream was clearly distinguished from the water quality of the other sites. The original data obtained with the sensor were expressed on an eight-dimensional space, so they were visualized on the two-dimensional plane using principal component analysis. That is, the water quality of the upper stream was the same, and the quality of middle and down stream was different. The multichannel sensor system will contribute to control water quality and water pollution. q 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.

Evaluation of Surface Water Quality by NSFWQI Index and Pollution Risk Assessment, Using WRASTIC Index in 2015
Background & Aims of the Study: Water resources are useful or potentially useful. Uses of water are included agricultural, industrial, household, recreational and environmental activities. The majority of human uses require fresh water. Rivers are parts of this fresh water that play a very important role in the water cycle, acting as drainage channels for surface water. Hence, ...
متن کاملEvaluation of seasonal variability in surface water quality of Shallow Valley Lake, Kashmir, India, using multivariate statistical techniques
Seasonal variation in water quality of Anchar Lake was evaluated using multivariate statistical techniques- principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). Water quality data collected during 4 seasons was analyzed for 13 parameters. ANOVA showed significant variation in pH (F3 = 10.86, P < 0.05), temperature (F3 = 65, P
متن کاملEvaluation of the Water Quality Pollution Indices for Groundwater Resources of Ghahavand Plain, Hamadan Province, Western Iran
Background: Due to the increasing pollution of water resources, this study was carried out for evaluation of water quality pollution indices for monitoring of heavy metals (As, Zn, Pb and Cu) contamination in Ghahavand Plain, Hamadan Province, Western Iran during spring and summer 2012. Methods: Totally, 20 ground water wells were chosen randomly. The samples were filtered (0.45 μm) and m...
متن کاملGroundwater quality assessment using the water quality pollution indices in Toyserkan Plain
Background: Iran is located within the dry and semi dry regions, thus almost 90% of the required water is secured via the use of groundwater. Owing to the increasing pollution of water resources, this study was performed to evaluate water quality pollution indices for heavy metals (As, Zn, Pb and Cu) contamination monitoring in Toyserkan Plain during spring and summer in 2012. Methods: A tot...
متن کاملassessment of the probable impacts of land use changes on water quality in shadeghan wetland using remotely sensed data
In this research, the evaluation of possible effects of land-use change on water quality in Shadegan wetland has been provided with the help of remote sensing data. The purpose of this research was to evaluate and compare user variations in 2000 and 2015 using Landsat satellite imagery (with ETM and OLI sensors) from the study area and processing them in the ERDAS software environment using the...
